Welcome!

My nephew Ruston & I
June 2014
As a 25-year-old woman, I never expected—or even wanted—to build a house. But after I prayed for a few years about where I should live, God made it clear to me that He wanted me to buy land and build.  This challenge took all of me.  In the middle of the planning and financing process, I thought back to my writing classes in college, and I began writing. It was like I had to start writing to make some order of out my chaos.  I needed to write to take my mind off the disappointments, the financial stress, and the uncertainty. I needed to write to open my eyes to see how God was working.
I started this blog right as I broke ground for my house in June 2014. Then over the next 6 months, I wrote about how God told me to build my house, money stress, being single, inching my way through grad school, working my dad at church, my desire to do foster care, getting stitches on my forehead, and even the most important thing I've learned from Beth Moore.
I hope it encourages you somehow!
